AVA Pro

The AVA Pro is a newly redesigned version of the successful AVA sailplane.

The following improvements have been made to the AVA to become the AVA Pro:

Fuselage - The fuselage features a new drooped nose for more precise competiion landings, a canopy opening vs. slip-on nose cone, a removable servo-tray and a pylon on which the wing center panel is mounted. The fuselage is a white, shiny, scratch resistant fuselage that is produced from an CNC'ed aluminum mold. The all-Kevlar fuselage is compatible with 2.4 GHz RC systems. Replaceable, built-in nose-skeg optionally available. Kevlar ballast tube included.

Wing Center Panel - The new built up three-piece "D"- box structure now features two separate spoilers. It features a high-tech, Kevlar-wrapped carbon spar, carbon I-beam joiners, carbon-capped ribs and carbon sandwich spoilers. The center panel is covered with Oracover.

Wing Tips - New molded leading edge wing tips ensure superb airfoil accuracy. Two-color Oracover color scheme.

Stabilizer - A new 25gm D-box stabilizer replaces the standard AVA all built-up stabilizer. The new stabilizer is partially composite/partially built-up with carbon-capped ribs and covered with Oracover. The stab is removable for transport.

Fin/Rudder - A "right-sized" composite fin complements a built-up, carbon-capped rudder covered with Oracover. Fin/rudder assembly is removable via a simple clip arrangement.

The AVA is a world-class thermal soaring machine designed to be flown for fun at your local field or at the highest levels of F3J glider competitions. The AVA is a very stable and maneuverable plane, suited to the beginner and the advanced pilot.

Thanks to its low weight and the AG airfoil profile developed by Dr. Drela of MIT, the AVA Pro is able to float in the smallest of thermals, while having the capability of flying in stronger winds with ballast.

AVA launches track straight and true. The AVA takes strong launches thanks to the carbon D-box wing structure. Additionally, an adjustable tow-hook will let you find the optimal launch position.

The less experienced pilot will find the model a wonderful teacher, while the expert will find this competition winning design will fulfill his every demand.

Complete hardware package, Kevlar ballast tube, pushrod housings and carbon pushrods included.
